The Time and Cost needed for Class 2b License in CDC will be around 3 – 6 months for those who are able to pass the Traffic police test in the first attempt. I am a working adult and I enrolled on the 4/6/2016 and passed on the first attempt on the 12/10/2016. So it took me around 4 months and 1 week to get my license. The longest waiting time is the wait for traffic police test which took at around 1 month 3 weeks. As I took my most of my lessons on the weekend or after working hours, the time taken will be longer as compared to those who can take lesson anytime. CDC camper bot will be most useful for those who want to shorten the time. Please visit my online store for more detail.

Below is my record for the number of lessons I took at CDC.

  • Circuit Orientation – 1 (19/6)
  • Lesson 1 – 2 (23/6, 26/6)
  • Lesson 2 – 4 (30/6, 7/7, 10/7, 13/7)
  • Lesson 3 – 3 (16/7, 19/7 am, 19/7 pm)
  • Lesson 4 – 2 (24/7, 25/7)
  • Lesson 5 – 3 (30/7, 6/8, 12/8)
  • Lesson 6 – 1 (14/8)
  • Lesson 7 – 2 (17/8, 20/8)
  • Lesson 8 – 1 (21/8)
  • Circuit Revision – 9
  • Road Revision – 2
  • Traffic Police – 1 (12/10)

In all lesson, helmet, glove and knee & elbow guards are required. CDC does not provide these equipment. However, CDC do provide rental for these equipment at $5 each time. Thus, it is more worthwhile to get the equipment instead of renting them from CDC. My total cost for acquiring class 2b license is $1085.55 . Below is the breakdown of the cost for your reference. For the latest cost, you can download the ebrochure from cdc.

CDC Enrollment Fee $ 146.43
Provisional Driving License (PDL) $ 25.00
Internal Evaluation for RTT $ 5.07
Riding Theory Test (RTT) $ 6.50
Lesson and Revision $ 832.10
Traffic Police Practical Test $ 70.45
Total $ 1085.55

Hopefully, this will give you a much clearer idea on the Time and Cost needed for Class 2b License in CDC. Please do read different sections of my blog before you head off to your lesson so that you can be prepared for the lesson. In this way, you can take lesser lesson and hopefully can pass the traffic police test in your first attempt. Lastly, do visit this post to learn more about other CDC practical lessons.

Pls do try to complete all your theory lessons and tests as soon as possible to prevent any bottlenecking. Both theory and practical lesson can be cleared at the same time. Some learners progress were impeded as they are unable to book their next practical lesson due to not clearing their theory lessons and tests fast enough. Do visit this post to learn more about other CDC practical lessons.

    Hi Arcane

Why is it passing rate at other centers is reportedly higher ?
It’s common to hear CDC passing rates of between 40% to 60%.
I wonder is there a quota set by TP?

        Hi Arcane

It’s from many people I know who have passed their 2B from all over singapore from all three schools.

Could it be the passing rate you have is for car license?

59% is low at any rate. It’s also what I know which is that the passing rate typically ranges from 40% to 60%.

So your figure coincides with my understanding.

If you look at the passing rate for CDC, it is the highest in term of percentage for all 3 riding schools (CDC, SSDC and BBDC). The rate that i have posted is for motorcycle 2b. Your figure is from hearsay which is totally inaccurate and biased. IF 59% is low, then the other 2 schools passing rate will be very low already.

If you do not like teaching style, i suggest the best way for you is to go and another riding school to learn.

I went through the website statistics.
CDC has the LOWEST PASSING RATE for Class 2B test retake in the whole Singapore.

Also, it has the least who passed the first time for class 2B in terms of absolute numbers.

        Thanks for providing the url.

CDC has the highest percentage of 1st time pass for class 2b. You should not be looking at absolute number. If you look at absolute number, then it is natural that the bigger school will have bigger number of passes. This will not be a fair comparsion. If you do not like the teaching style of CDC, then you should go to other riding schools. Else, just have to suck thumb and continue with CDC. Everyone went thru the same course in CDC and i went thru CDC with no blog to guide me. You are considered better off than me already.

Hi, thanks for all the guidance in your blog posts. Can I check with you that I understand each practical lesson has to be cleared with internal evaluation before student can proceed to the next lesson. I saw that most lesson you took more than 1 time to proceed to next and this was what the instructor told the students as well. I know we can book multiple times for each lesson, but if we booked too many times but very fortunately passed the IE before all the bookings are consumed, there will be no refund. However, if we book 1 at a time, CDC always fully booked and we might not able to book the next time fast enough but to wait for vacancy for a long time…… So, what will you suggest the best way to book for the lessons? To go ahead to just book a few times at the beginning and waste it rather than wait for long time? Or book 1 at a time better? Thanks!

You can cancel the extra lessons after you have passed them if they are 48 hours aparts. This is because you have 18 free cancallation count which you should use. Thus, my advice is to book 3 lessons each time with each lesson 48 hours apart so that you can cancel them and get the refund after you clear the lesson. This was what i did in the past. If the 18 free cancellation is still available, then you should do what i did when i was learning in CDC so that you can get your license as soon as possible.
